These are the New Jewelry Listing Requirements Every Amazon Seller Should Know

Amazon has rolled out new jewelry listing requirements that are now fully active. According to Amazon, they designed these requirements to make the listing process clearer, improve search visibility, and reduce customer returns. If you sell jewelry on Amazon, these changes affect both how you classify products and which details you must include in your catalog.

One of the biggest updates is the new mandatory classification for jewelry. Sellers must label every new listing as fine or fashion using the “jewelry_material_categorization” attribute.

Once you choose a category, Amazon shows you only the relevant fields you need to complete, which helps reduce listing time. If you create a new listing without this classification, Amazon will suppress it until you fix it. Older listings created before August 31, 2025 will stay live, but Amazon strongly recommends updating them to avoid problems later on.

New Jewelry Listing Requirements: Pearl

Pearl jewelry also now has stricter requirements. To list anything containing pearls, you must include details such as luster, shape, minimum color, type, size per pearl, and the total number of pearls. Optional fields like stringing method or surface blemishes are still encouraged since they help customers understand what they are buying.

Material and metal information has also been updated. Sellers must now include the metal type and metal stamp for each item. Metal weight is optional, but Amazon will validate all required material details, so accuracy is important.

These updates aim to keep the category organized and help shoppers find exactly what they want. More accurate data means fewer unexpected returns, better search filtering, and more consistent customer experiences. For sellers, it also means fewer suppressed listings and a smoother workflow when uploading new products.

If you are adding new jewelry items, download the updated template from the List Your Products help page. For older listings, Amazon recommends updating the new classification and any missing pearl or metal attributes. Keeping your catalog compliant now will save you time and prevent issues in the future.
