If you’ve ever spent a whole night working over a spreadsheet trying to reconcile your Amazon sales, you aren’t alone. For years, one of the biggest headaches for sellers has been the gap between when a sale happens and when the money arrives your bank account. Because Amazon often holds funds until a package is delivered, your payout rarely matches your sales activity for the month.
The good news? A significant update to Amazon payment reports is rolling out by April 30, 2026. It’s designed to make your accounts a lot easier.
What is Changing?
Amazon is moving away from reports that rely solely on when it pays you. Instead, they are shifting toward an “accrual” style of reporting. This means the reports will now focus on when the transaction actually happened. Even if the money is still being held in reserve, you will see it.
This change applies to stores in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. If you are a seller who deals with delivery-date-based reserves, here is what you will see in your dashboard:
-
Everything in one place: You no longer have to download separate reports for “deferred” and “released” transactions. They will now live in one single file.
-
Better dating: Transactions will be indexed by the posted date (the day the sale occurred) rather than the date Amazon decided to release the funds.
-
New status columns: You’ll see a new column clearly labeling if a transaction is “deferred” or “released,” along with the specific date the money was (or will be) freed up.

Why This Matters for Your Business
This isn’t just a technical tweak; it’s a win for your financial visibility. Previously, if you wanted to see your true earnings for month-end reporting, you had to jump through hoops to find held funds.
Now, you can align your revenue with the actual work you did that month. If you run a tight ship with your cash flow or work with an external bookkeeper, this update provides a much cleaner “paper trail” for your business. It allows you to see what you’ve earned in real-time. This helps you make better decisions about inventory and ad spend.
How to Access the New Reports

-
Under Account Type, select All (Unified Reports).
-
